White Fir - Abies concolor

The White Fir (Abies concolor) is a coniferous evergreen, native to the Western and extreme Northeastern United States. It is ideal for use in gardens and landscapes as well as for naturalizing. This plant has nice blue foliage, is extremely tolerant of drought and cold and makes a disease resistant substitute for Picea pungens. This species does not do well in heavy clay soil and needs good drainage. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
