Black Brush Acacia - Acacia rigidula

The Black Brush Acacia (Acacia rigidula) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes, gardens and naturalizing in the native range. This is a great little tree for gardens and tight spaces. The canopy is not large enough to shade things out, and the debris it drops is small. This plant can defoliate in extreme drought or in zone 8 it will occaisionally drop leaves with a frost. Wattles (Acacia) can naturalize and be invasive in warmer climates. The native species is most common in production.
