Red Snakebark Maple - Acer capillipes

The Red Snakebark Maple (Acer capillipes) is a medium sized shade tree native to the Eastern United States that is ideal for gardens, landscapes, and naturalizing. This species has a great bark and fits well in a tight space. It's fibrous roots and lack of branching structure make it good for building corners which also bring out the bark interest. This is not a very structural tree when grown out in the open. The native species is most common in production.
