Coral Bark Japanese Maple - Acer palmatum 'Sangu Kaku'

The Coral Bark Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum 'Sangu Kaku') is a small deciduous tree ideal for a specimen in landscapes and gardens. This tree has the ferny green leaf of Acer palmatum and a bright coral bark that is most vivid in winter. The branches are sensitive to winterkill and it often needs careful pruning to remove the dead wood. The foliage can also burn in hot afternoon sun. This is a cultivated variety of Acer palmatum.
