Crimson King Maple - Acer platanoides 'Crimson King'
The Crimson King Maple (Acer platanoides 'Crimson King') is a medium sized deciduous shade tree for landscapes and gardens. This variety has all the attributes of the parent species along with deep burgundy leaves in summer. Some people just don't like the purple leaves. The seed stock can also revert to the parent plant and become invasive. This is a cultivated variety of Acer platanoides.
