Crimson Sentry Maple - Acer platanoides 'Crimson Sentry'
The Crimson Sentry Maple (Acer platanoides 'Crimson Sentry') is a columnar deciduous tree for landscapes, gardens, and screening. This plant has short horizontal branches which makes it less prone to ice damage than other columnar species. It also has deep burgundy leaves in summer for color. Some people just don't like those purple leaves. The seed stock can also revert to parent plant and become invasive. This is a cultivated variety of Acer platanoides.
