Norway Maple - Acer platanoides

The Norway Maple (Acer platanoides) is a medium sized deciduous shade tree for landscapes and gardens. The tree has excellent fall color and is faster growing than other Maples, but sturdy enough to resist ice and wind damage. The shallow root system makes it difficult to underplant. It is also considered an exotic invasive species in many states. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
