Red Maple - Acer rubrum

The Red Maple (Acer rubrum) is a large deciduous tree for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing that is native to the Eastern United States. This tree has brilliant red fall color and vivid spring flowers that can persist through spring freezes. The bark can be prone to sun scald in newly planted trees. Wrapping the trunk on newly planted trees is recommended. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
