Tartarian Maple - Acer tataricum

The Tartarian Maple (Acer tataricum) is a small deciduous specimen tree for landscape, and gardens. The seed on this plant is a brilliant red that adds a blast of color in mid summer that most people will mistake for a flower at first. It also makes a great small street or parking lot tree and is durable enough to survive in large containers and planters. This plant has no negatives of note. There are more cultivars of this species in production. Acer ginnala is a subspecies of this tree.
