Velvet Maple - Acer velutinum

The Velvet Maple (Acer velutinum) is a medium sized deciduous shade tree for landscapes, gardens, and shade trees. This plant is coveted for it's unique summer foliage and extreme toughness. It is the most common street tree in Russia and Eastern Europe. The fall color is a disgusting burnt orange. The native species is most common in production.
