Everglades Palm - Acoelorrhaphe wrightii

The Everglades Palm (Acoelorrhaphe wrightii) is a dense shrub or medium sized tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant can grow as a shrubby thicket or large trunked tree. The palmate leaves can reach nearly 3 feet across and this is a popular landscape plant in nearly all frost free areas of the United States. To maintain a tree form, the base must be kept clean of suckers and new shoots. The native species is most common in production.
