Nutless Horsechestnut - Aesculus hippocastanum 'Baumannii'

The Nutless Horsechestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum 'Baumannii') is a flowering deciduous shade tree for landscapes, gardens and borders. It is also hardy enough for urban use. Blooms later than the species, and as slightly more upright. The sterile flowers appear to be double making them more vivid. Claims to be fruitless, but often has a stray nut or two. This is a cultivated variety of Aesculus hipposcastanum. Photos from the parent species will aid in identification.
