American Agave - Agave americana

The American Agave (Agave americana) is a large succelent shrub ideal for tropical and arid landscapes and gardens. Giant thick arching leaves in a rosette with flowers that can reach up to 20 feet in height. It can take up to ten years for this plant to bloom. The sap of this species contains toxins that can burn skin. Do not prune without protection. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
