Narrow-Leaf Agave - Agave angustifolia

The Narrow-Leaf Agave (Agave angustifolia) is a small succulent shrub ideal for tropical and arid landscapes and gardens. This plant makes more of a spreading mat over time than the traditional pure rosette as new pups (suckers) emerge. The spikes on the edge of the leaves are extremely sharp and can cut skin. The sap of this species contains toxins that can burn skin. Do not prune without protection. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
