Cow's Horn Agave - Agave bovicornuta

The Cow's Horn Agave (Agave bovicornuta) is a small succulent shrub ideal for tropical and arid landscapes and gardens. This species has a gorgeous red tone that develops around the thorns and eventually encompases the leaves as they age. The flowers can reach up to 10 feet in height. The spikes on the edge of the leaves are extremely sharp and can cut skin. Do not prune without protection. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
