Octopus Agave - Agave vilmoriniana

The Octopus Agave (Agave vilmoriniana) is a medium sized succulent shrub ideal for tropical and arid landscapes and gardens. This is a large leaf variety of Agave that could be mistaken for a large Whale Tongue Agave. The uniqueness comes from the undualting spikes of flowers that resemble an Octopus'tentacles. The spikes on the edge of the leaves are extremely sharp and can cut skin. Do not prune without protection. The native species is most common in production.
