Forest Prince Serviceberry - Amelanchier X grandiflora 'Forest Prince'
The Forest Prince Serviceberry (Amelanchier X grandiflora 'Forest Prince') is a medium sized deciduous flowering tree for landscapes, gardens and naturalizing. This variety has improved fall color and disease resistance over native varieties. The red berry is more vivid than the native species'purple berries. Balled and burlapped trees do not transplant well. Either cut back the top when planting or plant a container grown specimen. This Is a cultivated variety of Amelanchier x grandiflora. Seedstock off the hybrid will emerge as one of the native parents.
