Montara Manzanita - Arctostaphylos montaraensis

The Montara Manzanita (Arctostaphylos montaraensis) is a large flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub or small tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant has persistent flowers in spring, evergreen leaves, and a mahogany colored bark. The foliage can develop leaf spot under irrigation. This variety is cultivated from a stand found naturally on Montara Mountain outside of San Francisco.
