Monterey Manzanita - Arctostaphylos montereyensis
The Monterey Manzanita (Arctostaphylos montereyensis) is a medium sized broadleaf evergreen shrub for landscapes and gardens. This plant has persistent flowers in spring, evergreen leaves, and a mahogany colored bark. The foliage can develop leaf spot under irrigation. This variety is cultivated from a stand found naturally on coastal ridges around Monterey.
