The Refugio Manzanita (Arctostaphylos refugioensis) is a large flowering broadleaf evergreen shrub or small tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant has persistent flowers in spring, evergreen leaves, and a more upright habit than other varieties of Arctostaphylos. The foliage can develop leaf spot under irrigation. This plant is cultivated from a naturally occurring strain found in the Refugio Pass, Santa Barbara County, California.
