Mexican Butterfly Bush - Bauhinia mexicana

The Mexican Butterfly Bush (Bauhinia mexicana) is a small deciduous flowering tree or large shrub for landscapes and gardens. This is a great bird and butterly tree or shrub with nonstop flowers in summer. In the frost free winters of zones 10 and 11 the leaves can stay on until new ones emerge. The pods produced in fruiting can be exremely messy. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
