Golden Ring Barberry - Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea 'Golden Ring'

The Golden Ring Barberry (Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea 'Golden Ring') is a medium sized deciduous shrub for borders, landscapes and gardens that is ideal for hedging. The leaves have a distinctive yellow stripe around the edge that is visible at close range (within several feet). The plant is very thorny and difficult to keep clean of leaves and debris. This is a cultivated variety of Berberis thunbergii var. atropurpurea.
