Chinese Paper Birch - Betula albo-sinensis
The Chinese Paper Birch (Betula albo-sinensis) is a medium sized deciduous tree for landscape and gardens. The exfoliating bark provides year round interest and small leaves provide a dappled shade. This plant is difficult to underplant due to a shallow root system. Expect heavy leaf drop when transplanting. There are several cultivated varieties in European production but this species is more difficult to find in the United States.
