Asian White Birch - Betula platyphylla

The Asian White Birch (Betula platyphylla) is a medium sized deciduous tree for landscape and gardens. This variety is desired for it's narrow upright shape and weeping habit. The Exfoliating bark provides year round interest. It is also much easier to underplant than other Birches. The variety is very susceptible to the bronze birch borer. Expect heavy leaf drop when transplanting. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
