Pink Bottle Tree - Brachychiton X excellens
The Pink Bottle Tree (Brachychiton X excellens) is a medium sized broadleaf evergreen tree for landscapes and gardens. This plant is named for the bottle shaped trunk it develops over time. In some areas, native tribes would hollow out the inside to act as a cistern. The seed pods have a fiberglass thread like interior that can irritate hands. Be sure and handle with gloves. The native species is most common in production.
