The Scotch Heather (Calluna vulgaris) is a broadleaf evergreen groundcover for dry sunny locations. This species is used mainly for its evergreen foliage, compact habit and showy flower. This plant is often planted as a native, but really is an exotic invasive that has naturalized in the United States. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
