American Bittersweet - Celastrus scandens

The American Bittersweet (Celastrus scandens) is a deciduous vine for a landscapes and gardens. The beautiful berry is sought after for fall and winter dècor. The oriental variety is extremely invasive in zones 6 and up and should be eradicated if encountered. The oriental species is most common in production.
