Ellwood Falsecypress - Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Ellwoodii'
The Ellwood Falsecypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Ellwoodii') is a columnar evergreen ideal for building corners and tight locations. This is one of the few columnar evergreens that is not just a very narrow pyramidal evergreen. The plant will bush out if the height is "topped" or limited. It can also be prone to snow and ice damage. This is a cultivated variety of Chamaecyparis lawsoniana. Cone and flower photos are from the parent species to help with identification.
