Slender Hinoki Falsecypress - Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis'
The Slender Hinoki Falsecypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis') is a small to medium sized coniferous evergreen tree for use as a landscape or garden specimen. This plant is smaller than the species but not truly dwarf giving it a "big tree feel". I personally love this plant. The interior sheds as new growth sets causing a browning around the stems and branches. This is not a worthy cause for exclusion from gardens. This is a cultivated variety of Chamaecyparis obtusa.
