Nana Lutea Hinoki Falsecypress - Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Lutea'

The Nana Lutea Hinoki Falsecypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Lutea') is a small to medium sized coniferous evergreen tree for use as a landscape specimen. The bright yellow needle tips give a nice color contrast to undergrowth. It also has a tighter growth habit than Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis'™. The interior does shed as new growth sets and causes a browning around the stems and branches. This is not a worthy cause for exclusion from gardens. This is a cultivated variety of Chamaecyparis obtusa. Images of Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Gracilis'™ have been used in this profile to depict the needle, cone and flower for identification purposes.
