Pink Floss Silk Tree - Chorisia speciosa

The Pink Floss Silk Tree (Chorisia speciosa) is a medium to large sized broadleaf evergreen for landscapes and gardens This plant has striking pink flowers through most of fall and winter and a striking bulbous trunk. The seeds emerge from capsules encased in a silky fiber giving it the name. The plant does need some water for establishment and the thorns on the upper trunk and branches are extremely sharp. The native species is most common in production.
