Tartarian Red Twig Dogwood - Cornus alba

The Tartarian Red Twig Dogwood (Cornus alba) is a medium sized flowering shrub usually planted for the winter twig interest. This plant has a good summer flower, fall berries, and excellent winter color in the twigs. The plant can develop dead wood that often needs to be cleaned out. The plant can also be cut all the way back to rejuvenate the twig color. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
