Cornelian Cherry Dogwood - Cornus mas

The Cornelian Cherry Dogwood (Cornus mas) is a medium sized flowering tree for landscapes, and gardens. The early frost tolerant flowers bring color to March and sometimes February. The bark is also wonderful in winter, and more colorful than the photos depict. This plant has no negatives of note. There are a few cultivated varieties sold, but there is little evidence that they actually vary from the species.
