Elegans Japanese Cedar - Cryptomeria japonica 'Elegans'
The Elegans Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica 'Elegans') is a medium sized evergreen tree ideal for landscapes, gardens and hedgerows. This tree has a nice tight conical shape that makes it easy to contain in a small garden space. The winter color can be really nice against the dark green of other conifers. By itself the winter color can make the tree look dead or dying. It really needs to be used against a dark green backdrop. This is a cultivated variety of Cryptomeria japonica.
