The Italian Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens) is a columnar evergreen ideal for manicured gardens. This is the columnar evergreen all others aspire to be... the quintessential columnar specimen. This plant is probably a little over rated, but wouldn't we all like to have that problem. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
