Quince Apple - Cydonia oblonga

The Quince Apple (Cydonia oblonga) is a fruit bearing flowering tree grown predominately for the Quince Apple. This tree has a great flower show, habit and bark, but is known for the fruit it produces which is coveted for preserves and flavoring. This species does not like humid climates or alkaline soils. There a numerous cultivars of this plant in production, this profile is for the parent species.
