Coral Bean - Erythrina X bidwillii

The Coral Bean (Erythrina X bidwillii) is a medium sized deciduous flowering tree for warmer gardens and landscapes. This is a sterile cultivar of a native species and is believed to bloom more than the native because it does not seed. The branches are very thorny and can suffer freeze damage in zone 8, but will come back after removing dead wood. This is a hybrid of E. crista-galli and E. herbacea
