The Purpleleaf European Beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea') is a large deciduous shade tree ideal for landscapes and gardens. A great tree with all the wonderful attributes of Fagus grandifolia with the added benefit of a purple leaf. This plant has no negatives of note. This is a cultivated variety of Fagus sylvatica.
