Barrel Cactus - Ferocactus wislizeni

The Barrel Cactus (Ferocactus wislizeni) is a small to medium sized cactus shrub for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing. This is a nice flowering cactus that produces a small fruit. It is usually found small and round but can become columnar with age. This plant has brutal thorns that are often hooks on the end making them more painful to remove. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
