Large Fothergilla - Fothergilla major

The Large Fothergilla (Fothergilla major) is a large shrub or small tree native to hardwood forests in the Southeast. It is also good for garden and landscape specimens or naturalizing. The species has a nice fragrant flower that attracts humming birds and butterflies. It also has and attractive bark on older specimens. This plant has no negatives of note. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
