The Tree Ocotillo (Fouquieria macdougalii) is is a unique specimen mainly found in collectors' gardens or the Sonoran Desert. This plant has beautiful red tubular flowers, and is semi-deciduous, losing the leaves in zone 9 or in severe drought in warmer climates. This plant is extremely thorny. The native species is most common in production.
