Autumn Purple Ash - Fraxinus americana 'Autumn Purple'

The Autumn Purple Ash (Fraxinus americana 'Autumn Purple') is a deciduous shade tree ideal for landscapes, gardens, and street trees. This variety is supposedly seedless, but it is common to get sporadic seed clusters with age. It is also smaller, has more perpendicular branching, and darker fall color than the straight species. Most varieties of Ash are being attacked by a borer throughout the Ohio River valley and it is moving westward. This is a cultivated variety of Fraxinus americana.
