Green Ash - Fraxinus pennsylvanica

The Green Ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica) is a deciduous shade tree native to most of the United States. This species has a glossier and darker green leaf than other native ash and a deeper dark yellow fall color with rough bark. This species has the potential to produce a large number of seeds that can be a messy nuisance. Most varieties of Ash are being attacked by a borer throughout the Ohio River valley and it is moving westward. There are a more cultivars of this species in production.
