Ginkgo, Maidenhair Tree - Ginkgo biloba
The Ginkgo, Maidenhair Tree (Ginkgo biloba) is a large deciduous shade tree for landscapes and gardens. This is a favorite of collectors. This is a very durable tree for difficult landscape situations. It is also one of the oldest plant species know. Fossils over 200 million years old have been found with the leaves. The rotting fruit on females can smell like a sock as old as the species. There are a more cultivars of this species in production.
