Mexican Ebony - Havardia mexicana

The Mexican Ebony (Havardia mexicana) is a medium sized deciduous shade tree for arid landscapes and gardens. This plant is extremely drought toelrant and sought for the wood by craftsmen and furniture makers. It also has a very showy flower in spring. This plant is drought tolerant, but also drought deciduous and can lose the leaves in summer as protection. The native species is most common in production.
