The Oceanspray (Holodiscus discolor) is a large deciduous flowering shrub for landscapes, gardens and borders native to the Western United States. This species has large flowers reminiscent of sea foam on long straight stems that were used by early Americans for arrows. This plant requires heavy pruning to keep its fluffy habit. The native species is most common in production.
