Oakleaf Hydrangea - Hydrangea quercifolia

The Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia) is a large deciduous flowering shrub for landscapes, gardens, borders and naturalizing that is native to the Southeast. Large panicle flowers that emerge white and turn pink can dry on the plant and hold all winter. It also has exfoliating bark for winter interest. The species is prone to anthracnose, but less so once it is in the ground. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
