Creeping St. John's Wort, Aaron's Beard - Hypericum calycinum
The Creeping St. John's Wort, Aaron's Beard (Hypericum calycinum) is a small evergreen flowering shrub or groundcover for landscapes, gardens and naturalizing. This plant has bright yellow flowers that repeat through summer and evergreen foliage that lasts all year. This plant does not like hardwood mulch or mulch over 1" deep, but needs it around it to spread. The native species is most common in production.
