American Holly - Ilex opaca

The American Holly (Ilex opaca) is a broadleaf evergreen tree for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing native to the Eastern United States. This is the native holly tree of North America and has beautiful green foliage, bright red flowers, and a minimal but noticable flower in spring. This plant is prone to disease and insects, but nothing terminal. It is also very slow growing. There are more cultivars of this species in production.
