Winter Red Winterberry - Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red'
The Winter Red Winterberry (Ilex verticillata 'Winter Red') is a medium sized deciduous shrub ideal for landscapes, gardens, and naturalizing. This species is planted mainly for the bright red to orange berries that emerge in fall and persist all winter long. This plant does require a male to pollinate for berries. Be sure and ask the retailer for one. This is a naturally occurring cultivar of the native Ilex verticillata.
